It all started when Colton & Mikaela matched on Facebook dating November 11th, 2023. Two weeks later, Colton invited Mikaela out to his first show at Buffalo Wild Wings off of Coulter st which took place on November 23rd that same year. When they laid eyes on each other for the first time, Colton greeted Mikaela with the biggest hug that she had ever received. That same night after the show ended at 1am, Colton got his check, loaded up his equipment and gave Mikaela one more hug as well as their first kiss in the freezing cold before they went home for the night.

They still kept in touch as time progressed, Mikaela still came out to support Colton at his shows every Friday night, then New Years Eve came around and Colton invited Mikaela to his New Years Eve party that he and his roommate at the time were hosting. New Years Day came around and Colton became lost after that night that he ended up friend zoning Mikaela. But even after that day, they still kept in touch and Mikaela still came out to his shows and even watched him coach youth wrestling a couple of weekends. No matter what Colton would do, Mikaela was still his number one supporter through everything that he was juggling earlier that year.

Fast forwarding to February 21st 2024, Colton had a mental breakdown at his Wednesday night show at Old Tascosa Brewery. Just by seeing the man in tears, Mikaela reached out and gave him the most warming hug that he'd ever received. From there, that hug opened his eyes and realized that he's in love with this woman! The next night, Colton got done playing a show at Rounders Club and he got his money and got his equipment loaded up into the tiny 2000 V6 Camaro he had at the time. But before he and Mikaela left that bar that night, he told Mikaela that he was regaining feelings for her. She was stunned and at a loss for words and then responded with, "I've never lost feelings for you!" It was from there that they were back in the talking stage!

Fast forwarding to March 7th, Colton was playing another show at Big Jim's Pizza. It was a packed house at the start of the show! Out of nowhere, Colton's crazy ex popped in the tiny restaurant to give him a valentine's day gift that he clearly didn't ask for and her friend told him 30 minutes near the end of this 2 hour show that she's still in love with him. As soon as he heard those words, Colton immediately started saying in his head, "NO! NO! I CAN'T DO THAT! I'VE MOVED ONTO BETTER THINGS AND I HAVE MY EYES SET ON SOMEBODY BETTER!!!" He then told Mikaela about that whole situation and she was ready to tap out after that whole situation. That was until Colton told her with so much caution, "I think I love you!" Mikaela started laughing as she says, "I hate you" when she really doesn't. (Don't worry, she said that she loved him that night.)

Several days went by (March 8th), and that was when Colton asked Mikaela to be his girlfriend at ANOTHER show at Buffalo Wild Wings off of I40. Then March 9th rolled around and Colton's dad's side of his family showed up to ANOTHER show that took place at Valore and they were bombarding Mikaela with so many questions with the main question being, "What exactly are ya'll?"

Time flew by and they've done so much together! They've gone on so many trips together whether it was to travel for music or just to get out of dodge. They would travel through Texas and would travel out of state to Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, you name it! Aside from all of the traveling that they do, they've done so many fun things together as a couple such as spending time loving on their four cats (That's right, FOUR!), playing card games & video games, building legos, and watching Vampire Diaries & George Lopez as well as other movies! One of the biggest things that they did together while they dated was placing membership at Southwest Church of Christ as a happy & loving couple!

Colton accomplished a lot by getting Mikaela to do a lot of firsts such as helping her mark something off of her bucket list by taking her to her first drive in movie. The biggest first that Colton succeeded was helping Mikaela overcome her fear by swimming in the ocean for the first time out in Gulf Shores, Alabama!

It was during their trip to Arlington that Mikaela told Colton that she loves him so much and that she's not going anywhere because Colton was afraid that he was gonna lose the best woman that he ever had in his entire life because of the rough past that he had. Colton heard those loving and caring words from Mikaela, that he took those words to heart and made that same promise to her!

They spent Christmas that year with Mikaela's family in Branson, MO. It was the first night when they got to Branson and reunited with her family that Colton asked her dad, David for their blessing while he was playing PGA World Tour! David tells Colton that he and his wife, Corina as well as the rest of his family saw this coming for a very long time! Mikaela asked Colton what he and her dad were talking about that night and he told her that he got her parents' blessing to marry Mikaela! As soon as 2025 hit, they became busy with getting Mikaela moved into Colton's apartment and getting their four cats to love and coexist with each other! When Colton saw that one of his favorite country singers, Randy Rogers was playing a show in town on April 25th, 2025 and so Colton saw that this was his opportunity to pop the question in the best romantic way possible! Before they went to this late concert that night, they went and got some pictures taken at Medi Park. Another local musician in town, Julian Villarreal (also known as Juju/ Juju's Jukebox) was there to play a couple of country tunes for background music but most importantly for Colton & Mikaela to dance to. Even though Mikaela would never dance with Colton because she's not a huge fan of two stepping, she still danced with the man that she gets to spend forever with!!
